Please RSVP to PastorFlorin@AgapeChurch.Life

Mission of Agape
In accordance with the Great Commission recorded in Matthew 28:18-20, this Church shall engage the culture around it and strive to expand the kingdom of God. The Church shall be committed to an outward focus by placing the needs of those who are not yet followers of Christ ahead of the needs of those who are. While congregational care of regular participants shall not be neglected, outreach to others who are outside or new to the Church shall be given higher priority in the budgeting, staffing, and scheduling of Church activities. Thus the mission of this Church is to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God, make new disciples of Jesus Christ, celebrate through baptism their commitment to follow Jesus as king, and mentor them to obey His teachings. The church shall welcome all disciples of Christ into a congregation that is healthy, growing, and multiplying through the planting of other congregations with the same mission.

Worship Gathering – Liturgy Service
Oct 13 @ 10:00 am – 11:15 am

We gather every Sunday at 10am in Pewaukee, WI & Online.

An intimate gathering of broken people who follow Jesus.

We are affectionately known as The Island of Misfit Toys.

What to Expect in Pewaukee

On the 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month our gathering is liturgical:

  • Come in by the front doors; they are open but pull hard – they can be heavy.
  • As you walk in you are greeted by real people who are glad you came. Then look up to see a historic building redeemed & restored by God’s grace.
  • As we start, we’ll sing a couple of songs together doing our best to be (somewhat) in tune and in the right rhythm – nope, we’re not professionals but our singing is from the heart.
  • After the songs we’ll celebrate God’s provision, pray, and share Communion – everyone who follows Jesus is welcome to participate.
  • Before Pastor’s message we usually have a short video. The message covers a passage from the Bible in its cultural contest and highlights how it applies to our modern lives.
  • Heads Up to individuals familiar with non-denominational churches! Our crazy Pastor wears vestments so don’t freak out too much.
  • We conclude with general announcements and a closing song.

What to Expect Online:

(When the technology works.)

  • You should be able to connect via our YouTube Live platform. You can find the link on the Home Page
  • We consider you a micro-church right where you happen to be. It’s best to watch with others and create a community near you.
  • Be ready to join us in Communion so have bread and wine/grape juice near you.
  • As you watch, it can be easy to stay passive; we encourage you to be engaged via comments and reactions. It may be helpful to you to have a notebook handy to write your impressions, reactions, and ideas down.

Looking forward to see you Sunday!

Converge Great Lakes 135th Annual Meeting
Oct 17 – Oct 19 all-day
Pre-Conference Offered Thursday, October 17th!
(The fees are $20/person and registration is required.)
Something amazing happens when ministry peers meet
and share ideas, encouragement and resources.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn with like-minded leaders!
  • Church Planter Gathering: When Church Planters gather together to share their passion and best practices, everyone is made better. This gathering is for active and new church planters who want to learn and sharpen their skills.
  • Multi-Staff Gathering: This round table gathering of pastors (with at least one more full-time staff person) is an opportunity for like-minded pastors to learn from one another.
  • Latino Pastor Gathering: This is a gathering for those pastors uniquely focusing their efforts on reaching Latino communities. It is an opportunity to share best practices with one another.
  • Solo Pastor Gathering: The most common calling in the CGL movement is the local pastor who shepherds a congregation of 150 or less people in faithfulness to Christ. Many times, the practices shared in conferences are not practical or helpful to the solo pastor. This informal gathering aims to bring pastors together for encouragement and to share what they are learning to be most fruitful.
  • Do It Right Seminar (1-3 p.m.) This training has become a hallmark event helping churches get their financial record keeping in order according to IRS guidelines and best practices. New churches and smaller churches with personnel turnover or facing challenges would be greatly helped by this time and training.

On behalf of the Converge Great Lakes Board of Overseers and Staff, we invite you to participate in Converge Great Lakes’ 135th Annual Meeting. You won’t want to miss this time of fellowship and celebration. Come catch up with old friends and make new ones! Whether you are joining us as a church delegate, a guest, or a vendor, we welcome you and are pleased to have you present.

Worship Gathering – AOK (Acts of Kindness)
Oct 20 @ 10:00 am – 11:15 am

As you feel comfortable, invite a trusted friend to do an AOK with you! Join other followers of Jesus online.

You are the church! We gather online and in homes.

Online options include Zoom (see home page) and Facebook Live: https://www.facebook.com/agapechurchwi/

“Choose Your Own AOK” Ideas For 2020

Acts Of Kindnesses (AOKs) are a tangible way to show others agape (selfless) love. Please be safe while you engage in AOKs. Remember to be considerate of your surroundings and the people you are coming in contact with. May the Lord bless your service.

At some point in the day, we’d love if you’d hop onto this event page, or onto the Agape page or group, and share a picture of your AOK!! Encourage your friends to do something as well!! Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. And even small somethings turn into something huge when they are added together!! #Agapechurchwi #ActsofKindness #agapelove

1) OUTDOOR CLEAN UP
Easy; Kid-friendly

Go out to a local path, trail or section of sidewalk and pick up trash. This is relatively low investment high benefit activity. Remember to stay on public paths or get permission from the owners of the property as you do this activity.

All you need is a trash bag or bucket, safety gloves, and your favorite work clothes. Because there is generally lots of trash out there, you might want to time-box the activity (set a timer and stop when it goes off).

2) MAKE WALL CARDS
Easy/Moderate; Kid-friendly

Create wall cards (8.5×11 or bigger, so residents can see them if they are hung on the wall) with encouraging words and uplifting pictures for your local nursing home. Kids of all ages can have a great time drawing, painting, and crafting during this activity. You’ll need some basic crafting supplies (we suggest starting with what you have in the house). This was marked easy/moderate because you’ll probably have some clean up, and you’ll need to do research regarding who will receive the cards.

3) DECORATE CANVAS SHOES
Moderate; Somewhat Kid-friendly

Decorate plain canvas shoes, with sharpies, for Soles For Jesus. They will be sent to Africa to provide shoes, along with the gospel message, to remote villagers, many of whom do not have shoes.

There are tutorials and ideas you can research. Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6hc1RlOPh4

Additional ideas and recommendations at Soles for Jesus website: http://www.solesforjesus.org/

4) MAKE BAGGED LUNCHES
Moderate; Family-friendly

Make bagged lunches for a local organization that helps the most vulnerable (like The Hope Center for example: https://hopecenterwi.org/). A sandwich, chips, fruit, carrot sticks, a dessert, and a drink are a great lunch. Please verify with your chosen charity that they are still able to accept these, before you begin!

5) CREATE CARE PACKAGES
Moderate; Family-friendly

Involve the entire family to plan, shop, and assemble a care package for someone…someone in need or someone special. Everyone loves to be loved. Be creative. Be personal. Start small.

It can be just a small bag with a roll of toilet paper, wipes, an encouraging card, something fun to do and maybe a Gideons bible. You could deliver it locally or mail it to someone who lives far away. Just a small gift from the church to let them know we are praying for them and love them!

Here are some additional sample ideas: https://www.realsimple.com/work-life/care-package-ideas
There are lots more – just ask “The Google” – lol

6) NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR HELP
Easy to Moderate to Difficult, depending on the job, Family-friendly

Keep your eyes open to opportunities but here are some ideas:
Go do yard work for an elderly, ill, or single, working parent neighbor.
Make dinner for a neighbor who is working full time.
Go grocery shopping for a family who is immune compromised or who is struggling financially due to the shut down.
Drop off a handwritten note just to let them know that you really appreciate them

7) SUPPORT FIRST REPSONDERS
Easy to Moderate depending on level of commitment; can be Family-friendly

Bake some treats for your local FD, PD or hospital. Or take it farther and get to know the people in the departments. Ask what they need, and then provide it! Maybe ordering a take out meal delivered for a busy shift could be a blessing (coordinate with them to do this!)!

8) GATHER & DONATE
Moderate to Hard, depending upon level of commitment; Family-friendly

Organize a supply drive in your neighborhood or community! Food pantries need food. Soles for Jesus needs shoes (new and used). Other charities have other needs.

Get the word out to your circle and arrange for drop off on your front porch, or pick up over a few days or a week. Then deliver to your charity.

9) PURCHASE & DONATE
Easy to Moderate; depending upon level of commitment

Donate needed new items to a local charity (here’s a few…they have store wishlists in addition to accepting cash donations! Or choose your favorite!! For many you can buy online and have it shipped right to the charity):
Street Angels: https://www.streetangelsmke.org/donate-food-and-supplies
The Women’s Center: https://twcwaukesha.org/donation-wish-list
Humane Animal Welfare Center: https://hawspets.org/haws-wish-list/
Pewaukee Food Pantry: http://www.pewaukeefoodpantry.com/how-you-can-help/
Hebron House: https://hebronhouse.org/donate/

10) YOUR IDEA HERE
Easy to hard, depending upon what you come up with

What need do you see that you can help fill? Pray about it, then use what God shows you and help, in love!!
